Track & Field - Fri, May 5, 2017

Kansas City, MO - The Avila track and field team will compete this weekend at the Heart of America Outdoor Track and Field Championships, which begin Friday in Oskaloosa, Iowa.

The Eagles enter poised to make their presence felt as they conclude their third year of existence as a program.

This season has by far been the best from a program standpoint as the Eagles have set more personal and program records than ever before, as well as earning more individual victories this outdoor season than they had in their first two seasons combined.

Jeremi Barnes is the lone Eagle to have qualified for the NAIA National Championship with the "A" Standard, but many Eagles are right on the cusp as they enter the Heart Championships. Kayvona Bragg will look to hit "A" Standard after hitting "B" earlier this season, and young athletes Tenka Stringer and Penny Fenn also have a chance to push their way into Nationals.
