ENNIS NAMED RECIPIENT OF AVILA ATHLETICS LEADERSHIP AWARD

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Avila men’s soccer’s senior goalkeeper Harrison Ennis is the recipient of the Leadership Award as part of the 2026 Avila Athletics End of Season Awards. Additionally, Sports Information Director Zach Welch was named the Daryl Cronk Athletic Staff Member of the Year.

Ennis, Avila’s senior class vice president and men’s soccer team captain, started in goal 13 times for the Eagles this season, averaging more than nine saves per game and was an All-KCAC Honorable Mention selection.

“Harrison has meant a tremendous amount to our program, both on and off the field,” said head coach Robert Kelly. “He has been someone our players look up to every day because of the consistency, accountability and leadership he brings to the team. What makes Harrison special is the standard he sets in the way he works and the way he carries himself around others. He has helped build the culture of our program and has had a lasting impact on the people around him.”

Ennis raised his save percentage year over year by 80 points, posted his first career shutout this season and finished fourth in the NAIA with 128 saves. He was the first all-conference selection for an Eagle men’s soccer player since 2018.

Welch is in his second season as Avila’s SID, where is he responsible for the communications aspects for the school’s 18 varsity programs.
