BASEBALL HAS FIVE NAMED TO ALL-KCAC SECOND TEAM

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Wrapping up a long and successful season, Avila baseball had five players named to the 2025 All-KCAC Second Team, the conference announced today.

As a catcher, Zach Dillman earned his second-consecutive Second Team selection. The senior from Lee’s Summit finished his final Avila season leading the Eagles in batting average (.350), RBI (51) and hits (64). Additionally, Dillman was one of four Avila players to play in all 47 of the team’s games this season.

Ricky Dober earns his first All-Conference selection after wrapping up his junior season with a .349 average with 10 home runs and 49 RBI. Dober was one of Avila’s top home performers this season, hitting an even .400 at The Z while slugging .706 in 23 home games.

In 15 appearances on the mound this season, Aidan Johnson was Avila’s top reliever, posting a 3.41 ERA in 34.1 innings pitched. A one-time KCAC Pitcher of the Week, Johnson struck out 8.95 batters per nine innings and finished his first season at Avila with a 1.31 WHIP.

Landon Vahle earns his third-straight All-KCAC selection after being named Honorable Mention as a sophomore and First Team as a junior. The senior shortstop led the Eagles with 21 stolen bases while hitting .298 with 32 RBI. In his four seasons in an Avila jersey, Vahle stole at least 21 bases each year and wrapped up his career with 90 bags swiped.

Avila’s fifth and final Second Team honoree was outfielder Jack Virden. The senior from Jupiter, Fla., was Avila’s top power hitter this season, leading the team with 12 home runs and a .637 slugging percentage. Virden hit .345 on the season with 48 RBI, 39 runs scored and eight stolen bases.
