Bio

<p>Jared Patterson begins his third season at Avila, currently serving as the hitting coach and recruiting coordinator after leading the offense and outfielders for Avila in the 2024-25 campaign. He came to Kansas City from Ventura, Calif., where he served as the head coach at Buena High School, his alma mater, for six years. As the head coach at Buena, his teams set program records for most postseason appearances and postseason victories.&nbsp;</p> <p>Patterson began his coaching career as an assistant at Ventura College, and has coached collegiate summer ball for the last five years, with players ranging from NCAA Division I to junior college.&nbsp;</p> <p>Patterson began his college playing career at Ventura College, where he earned All-Conference honors and a Rawlings Gold Glove in center field. His efforts earned his a scholarship to play in over 100 games at NCAA Division I Chicago State University as a centerfielder, middle infielder and pitcher. In 2014, he led the team in runs scored, stolen bases, walks and saves. In 2015, he led the team in runs scored, stolen bases, and fielding percentage.&nbsp;</p> <p>Patterson earned his Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice from Chicago State University. He currently resides in Lenexa, Kan., with his wife, Megan.&nbsp;</p>
