AVILA CHEER NO. 16 IN NAIA, UP ONE SPOT IN ARC
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – After a second-place showing at the inaugural Eagle Invite on Sunday, Avila Cheer is ranked No. 7 in ARC 1 after the NAIA’s most recent rankings, moving up one spot from the previous ranking. Additionally, Avila is ranked No. 16 in the NAIA, with an average score of 84.64, fewer than 10 points behind the leaders.
“To receive this ranking is a testament to all the hard work our team has put in this season,” said head coach Julia Kramm. “Our athletes made it a goal early in the year to push themselves to learn new skills and compete a new routine with higher difficulty than we have in past years. They’ve put in the extra work to make that happen and that has been reflected in our scores so far this competition season. Them seeing their hard work pay off has opened their eyes that we are at a level that is competitive nationally and they are capable of being right up there with some of the top teams. This gives us the boost of confidence we need and some extra motivation to work hard over the coming weeks are we prepare for postseason competition.”
The Eagles moved up a spot in the bi-weekly rankings as the program prepares for the KCAC Conference Championship on March 14 and the NCA College Nationals on April 9 and 10.
