AVILA ANNOUNCES BAILEY GRACEFFA AS CHEER HEAD COACH

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – One of the best up-and-coming teams in the region has a new leader, as Avila University has hired Bailey Graceffa as the next head coach of the Avila cheer program, the university announced today.

“We are so excited to welcome Bailey to Avila and I cannot wait to see how she takes over our cheer program,” said Avila’s Vice President of Athletics, Shawn Summe. “Bailey has the energy and experience as a college coach that sets her apart. She has had success building a program at the college level and I am looking forward to seeing her take our program and build off of what has been started. With her experience and background in recruiting the Kansas City area, I am most excited about Bailey’s ability to build a program. I think she can take us to the next level.”

Graceffa joins the Eagles after a successful two-year stint leading the cheer and dance programs at Rockhurst University.

“I cannot wait to hit the ground running at Avila,” said Graceffa. “I want to thank Shawn Summe and Dr. Andy Jett for this incredible opportunity. The Avila cheer program has a tremendous pedigree and I am so excited to continue to build on the foundation and keep reaching new heights.”

Prior to her time at Rockhurst, Graceffa has also held head coaching positions at State Fair Community College, Staley (Mo.) High School and Fury Athletics in Pleasant Valley, Mo.

In addition to her head coaching opportunities, Graceffa has been a staff member with the National Cheerleaders Association in Dallas, Texas, working with high school athletes from across the country.

Graceffa and her husband, Colin have three children, Gio, Sonny and Rocky and currently reside in Kansas City.
