OTTAWA, Kan. – In the penultimate game of the season, Avila football fell to Ottawa on Saturday afternoon, 37-0.
The Braves scored twice on the ground in the first quarter and added two more rushing scores in the second quarter to give Ottawa a 27-0 halftime lead.
Avila was unable to get much going on the offensive end in the first two quarters, with Tristen Hood punting five times.
Ottawa put up one more rushing touchdown in the third quarter and put their final touches on the scoreboard via a field goal in the fourth quarter.
One of Avila's highlights from the afternoon came from a Chandler Reid interception late in the first half. It was the freshman's first pick of his collegiate career.
Avila will wrap up its season next Saturday when the program honors its seniors on Senior Day. Kickoff from The Z versus Tabor is slated for 1 PM.
