LOSS TO TABOR CONCLUDES 2025 FOOTBALL SEASON

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Honoring its seniors on an unseasonably warm day at Avila University, the Eagles fell 32-7 to Tabor on Saturday afternoon, concluding the 2025 football campaign.

Tabor scored on its opening drive of the game to take 7-0 lead just four minutes into the contest. Avila's defense would show up for the remainder of the first half to keep the Eagles in the game.

The teams would trade punts on each of their next two drives, but the Eagle defense came up big early in the second quarter.

With Tabor facing a fourth-and-two in Avila territory, the Eagle defense stopped the Bluejays on fourth down to give the ball back to the offense.

Avila was unable to capitalize before punting the ball back to Tabor, but would find the scoreboard shortly.

On their next drive, a 22-yard touchdown pass from Christian Neely to Seth Myers tied the game at 7-7.

The teams would enter halftime knotted at 7-7.

On the first drive out of halftime, Avila's defense would come up big again, stopping Tabor on fourth down once again to give the ball back to the Eagle offense in Tabor territory.

However, Tabor would return the favor and shut Avila down on fourth down on the following drive.

The Bluejays would score 25 points in the second half to finalize the 32-7 scoreline and end the season for both programs.

QB Neely finished his day with 156 yards through the air and a touchdown pass. Mecoast Vaughn hauled in eight passes for 98 yards. On the defensive end, Joshua Robinson wrapped up his Avila career with 14 tackles, a quarterback hurry and a pass breakup, while Chandler Reid picked off a Tabor pass late in the fourth quarter.
