KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Avila men’s basketball has hired Adam Rieschl as the program’s assistant coach, head coach Alex Slawson announced.
“We are very excited to welcome Adam to the Avila family,” said Slawson. “He brings energy, a passion for winning and development of the whole student-athlete. Adam’s past experience will be a great addition to our program.”
Rieschl comes to Kansas City after spending three years as an assistant coach at Benedictine College. Prior to his time in Atchison, Kan., Rieschl spent six years as a student manager at the University of Nebraska-Omaha.
"I am extremely blessed and excited to join the Avila community and Coach Slawson's staff,” said Rieschl. “I can't thank him enough for the opportunity to join the Eagles program. We share a passion for bringing out the best in each individual in the locker room and I can't wait to get to work."
At Benedictine, Rieschl assisted in advanced scouting and coordinated individual workouts with student-athletes. During his time with the Ravens, Rieschl helped to develop seven All-HAAC selections.
A University of Nebraska-Omaha graduate, Rieschl earned his Master’s degree from Benedictine.
