Golf Preview: CMU Spring Eagle Open
Kansas City, MO - The Avila men's and women's golf teams are back in action on Monday and Tuesday, this time in the Central Methodist University Spring Eagle Open in Boonville, Mo.
The Avila men's team will be led by Jackson Gurley, who is coming off of a fourth place finish last week at the Virginia McCoy Intercollegiate. Gurley has had a solid spring for the Eagles, and has been by far their most consistent golfer entering the CMU Spring Eagle Open.
For the women, Grace Miller and Shelby Watkins have been coming on strong, and both will look to have a strong showing ahead of the Heart Championships that are coming up in a couple of weeks.
Dates: April 18th and 19th
Format: Eighteen holes of stroke play each day for a total of 36 holes.
Time: Play begins at 9:00 AM (Shotgun start on both days)
Men's Field: Avila, Baker, Central Methodist, Columbia, Evangel, Graceland, Missouri Valley, William Penn
Women's Field: Avila, Central Methodist, Columbia, Hannibal-LaGrange, Missouri Valley, Stephens
Course: Hail Ridge Golf Course is located just off of I-70 in Boonville, Missouri. Sloping terrain and small greens require players to be in control of their game. Hail Ridge is a par 71 layout measuring 6,516 yards for the men's tees and 5,982 for the women's.
