KANSAS CITY, Mo. – A Wednesday matinee at The Z did not go the Eagles way in Avila's home opener, falling to crosstown rivals Park, 5-0.
After a scoreless first half, Park found the back of the net five times, including twice in the first 15 minutes of the second frame and two more times in the final six minutes of play to put the game away for good.
Avila was only able to manage five shots in the game, led by two from Malcolm Goswell.
Avila is back at home on Saturday against Oklahoma Panhandle State at 4 PM. Follow the Eagles all season long at @Avila_Athletics or AvilaAthletics.com.
