KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For the first time in the 2024 season, Avila men's soccer found the back of the net on Saturday, but ultimately fell to Oklahoma Panhandle State University, 4-1.
Vincent Escott scored an unassisted goal four minutes after the Aggies opened the scoring at The Z to tie the game at 1-1.
OPSU scored three times in a 25-minute span in the second half to put the game out of reach.
Avila played a man down for the majority of the game as Malcolm Goswell was shown a red card at the 8:35 mark of the first half.
The Eagles have some time to recuperate as they will head to Evangel to open up KCAC action on September 18 at 7:30 PM.
