BARTLESVILLE, Okla. – The Eagles men's soccer program took a 5-1 loss at the NAIA's fourth-ranked team, Oklahoma Wesleyan, on the road Wednesday night.
OKWU picked up two first-half goals and a third at the beginning of the second frame. Two more goals in the 62nd and 73rd minutes were all the offense the home team would need.
Oklahoma Wesleyan put up 39 shots on the night and Avila goalkeeper Naguib Nassir notched a season-high 17 saves.
With just over 10 minutes remaining, Avila's Henry Coffie picked up his first goal of the season on an assist from Robert Davies.
Avila falls to 0-9 on the season and will be back at The Z on Saturday afternoon to take on York.
