KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Avila men's soccer was unable to over four second-half goals from Friends on Thursday at The Z and fell to the Falcons, 5-0.

Midway through the first half, Friends had a breakaway opportunity and found the back of the net for the only goal scored in the first half.

Avila entered halftime trailing 1-0.

Twelve minutes into the second half, Friends had another scoring chance. A shot saved from Eagles keeper Naguib Nassir then bounced off an Avila defender for an own-goal. Friends took a 2-0 lead.

The Falcons added three more goals in a five-minute stretch to extend the scoreline to the ultimate 5-0 finale.

Nassir made four saves in the game and Avila was led offensively by Thomas Sweet, with two shots on goal.

Avila (3-13) hosts Bethel on Saturday afternoon at The Z for the team's final regular season home match. Kickoff is slated for 2:30 PM.
