CANTON, Mo. – Avila men's volleyball fell in three sets at Culver-Stockton on Saturday, 14-25, 15-25, 23-25.
The third set was the best for the Eagles as they played near the Illinois border. Avila took a quick 4-1 lead in the set and led for nearly the entirety before the Wildcats went on a nearly unstoppable run to put the set and the match away.
Leading 20-16 after a kill from Matt Cook, CSC went on a 7-1 run to take a 24-21 lead. Avila got back-to-back points from a pair of errors by the Wildcats before Culver-Stockton wrapped the match up with a service error from the Eagles.
Sebastian Rodriguez led Avila with 10 kills and Alan Uncal-Ramirez had 17 assists for the Eagles.
Avila is back on the court on Tuesday, hosting Kansas Wesleyan from Mabee Fieldhouse at 6 PM.
