MEN’S WRESTLING PICKS UP STRONG DUAL WIN OVER OTTAWA
OTTAWA, Kan. – In the stretch of four competitions in eight days, Avila men's wrestling notched a big win over Ottawa on Tuesday night, 31-21, highlighted by a number of strong performances.
A big victory for Avila as the Eagles still came away with the win despite being open in the 125-pound class and bumping wrestlers up in six weight classes.
Reigning KCAC Men's Wrestler of the Week, Logan Johnson, took down Asher Larson via fall in 1:04 in the 157-pound match.
Avila also recorded wins via fall from Tyler Johnson (133), Jace Tapia (165) and Blake Becker (285).
Terrell Carter-Williams picked up a win in the 149-pound class via a 22-16 decision and Jeremiah Voliva won his 184-pound match with a 19-8. major decision victory.
The Eagles continue their busy week with Senior Night at Mabee Fieldhouse on Friday night at 6 PM vs. York.
