Pinkston Named Honorable Mention All-KCAC
Standout super senior Hannah Pinkston concluded her lone season in Kansas City with an Honorable Mention All-KCAC selection, the conference announced this week. Pinkston was the top vote-getter and one of just two unanimous choices to the Honorable Mention squad, indicating that she just missed out on a spot on one of the league's top three teams.
The latest former Truman State Bulldog to make her way to Kansas City, Pinkston followed the path of both her head coach Remy Wolfe and assistant coach Tiffany Davenport in moving from TSU to Avila. Just as the younger Davenport sister did two seasons ago, after completing her Truman State career Pinkston came to Avila to play her fifth year, and immediately became a difference-maker for her new team.
It was clear early on that Pinkston would be a go-to player for the squad in Kansas City. Pinkston led the Eagles in scoring (11.1 points per game) and rebounding (6.6 per game), and finished just a couple of minutes behind Hannah Smith, an Honorable Mention performer last season, for the team lead. She was the team's leader in field goal attempts, and finished second in assists, steals and blocks.
Pinkston becomes the latest all-conference honoree for Avila women's basketball, which has featured at least one postseason selection every year that the team has been part of the KCAC.
