TOPEKA, Kan. – Continuing its strong end-of-season play, Avila women's bowling went to the seventh game of the semifinals in the 2026 KCAC Bowling Championships on Saturday, while the men had a tough first-round exit to Kansas Wesleyan.

In the first round against St. Mary, Avila's women's program beat the Spires, 2-0 to advance to take on Ottawa in the semifinals.

The Braves got off to a solid start in the best-of-seven semifinals, going up early, 3-1.

Avila fought back to win the next two games, 159-139 and 201-148, before losing in the decisive seventh game, 198-181.

On the men's side, the Eagles lost to the Coyotes of Kansas Wesleyan in the opening round, 2-0.

Both programs will now turn their sights to next month's ITC Sectionals in Ft. Worth, Texas, on March 14 and 15.
