WOMEN’S SOCCER DROPS SECOND STRAIGHT

WOMEN’S SOCCER DROPS SECOND STRAIGHT

PARKVILLE, Mo. – Avila women's soccer was unable to get back in the win column on Wednesday afternoon, falling 7-2 as they visited crosstown rivals Park.

The Pirates scored early and often in the first 45 minutes, scoring four times in the first half and adding three more in the second half.

The first of Avila's two bright spot of the contest came in the 82nd minute when Joselyn Clark buried a chance from the spot after the Eagles were awarded a penalty shot, marking her first goal of the season. Just three minutes later, Cali Lasater nabbed her second goal of 2025 right after Park picked up a red card to play with 10 players the remainder of the match.

The two late goals were not enough for the Eagles as they were unable to overcome the Pirates' strong offense. Even though Avila put up 10 shots on goal – including two each from Nikki Wood, Isabel Javier and Cali Lasater – the Eagles were only able to amass two balls in the back of the net.

On Saturday, Avila has another opportunity to pick up its second win of the season as they will take on Northwestern at Paragon Star Sports Complex in Lee's Summit at 5:15 PM.
