WOMEN’S SOCCER’S UNBEATEN STREAK ENDS AT EIGHT WITH LOSS TO FRIENDS

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Suffering their first loss in more than a month – and the first KCAC loss all season – Avila women's soccer's unbeaten streak ended at eight games on Wednesday afternoon with a 4-0 defeat to Friends.

The Falcons got the scoring started just over four minutes in.

On the final of three-consecutive corner kicks, Friends found the back of the net to take an early 1-0 lead.

Neither team was able to produce much offense in the first half as Friends held a 1-0 lead at halftime.

Friends would add three more goals in the second half to finalize the 4-0 scoreline.

The Falcons led in nearly every category, outshooting Avila 19-9 and leading in the corner kick department, 7-4. 

With just five games remaining in the regular season, every game is important for Avila. The Eagles will look to get back to their winning ways on Saturday as they travel to Tabor for a 6 PM kickoff.
