HATFIELD TAKES FIRST, WOMEN’S WRESTLING HAS FOUR OTHER PLACERS AT WILLIAM PENN OPEN
OKLALOOSA, Iowa – Reigning All-American Alexis Hatfield took first place in the 110-pound division at Avila women's wrestling had four other placers at the William Penn Open on Sunday.
Hatfield went 3-0 – with one factory coming via forfeit. In the quarterfinals, Hatfield dominated en route to a 10-0 tech fall. The senior took home first place in the championship round, winning via fall in just 80 seconds.
In the 138-pound class, Jaclyn Riedinger finished fourth, highlighted by a big win via fall in the consolation third round in just 40 seconds.
Another fourth-place finisher was Amitria McNack, who picked up a big win in the second round. McNack's win came via 7-4 decision.
Finally, in the 124-pound class, Jennifer Lopez-Alvarado picked up a seventh-place finish, highlighted by a win via fall in just 24 seconds.
In the small 103-pound division, Kylee Whalen left Oskaloosa with a second-place finish.
