TAYLOR AND SHECKELLS PLACE AT JIMMY MAY OPEN

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – Competing in their final regular season event of the season, Avila women's wrestling had a pair of placers at the Jimmy May Open on the campus of Baker University on Saturday.

In the 117-pound open division, Chloe Sheckells notched three wins on the afternoon and took sixth place.

Sheckells recorded a pin in just 58 seconds, a 10-0 tech fall victory and followed that up with an 8-4 decision win to help secure her place in the Open.

In the 124-pound open, junior Chloe Taylor finished fourth, going 4-2 on the day.

Taylor got her first victory on a decision and followed that up with three-consecutive pins, with the final fall coming in just 93 seconds.

Jennifer Lopez-Alvarado (three) and Jaclyn Riedinger (two) were the other Eagle wrestlers to notch multiple victories in the open. 

Wrapping up the regular season, Avila now turns its sights to the KCAC/SAC Conference Championships on Feb. 27 at Friends University.
