BASEBALL LOSES AT OTTAWA

OTTAWA, Kan. – Avila baseball was unable to get much going on the mound or at the plate on Friday at Ottawa, losing to the Braves, 10-2.

Just four of Ottawa's 10 runs came via extra base hits as the Braves had five separate RBI singles in their eight innings up at the plate.

Avila was able to get two runners across the plate thanks to Will Clark's sac fly in the fourth and single in the sixth in which Ricky Dober scored on an error.

Ottawa's pitching kept Avila baserunners to a minimum, allowing just four innings with multiple Eagles on base.

The two teams will be back in action for a doubleheader at Ottawa on Saturday beginning at noon.
