TENNIS LOSES PAIR OF EARLY-WEEK KCAC GAMES

LIBERTY, Mo. – Forced to move indoors due to late-winter weather in Kansas City, Avila tennis faced a pair of tough contests on Monday and Tuesday, with both programs losing to Friends on Monday and Evangel on Tuesday at the Clayview Country Club in Liberty, Mo.

The Avila women lost both to Friends, 7-0, on Monday before falling to Evangel on Tuesday, 5-0.

The men picked up a pair of victories on the two days, first a #2 doubles win on Monday as the pair of Hayden Carillo and Tristan Houchin won 6-4.

On Tuesday, the men saw a #1 doubles win from Axel Scott and Daniel Lozano, 7-5 before a #2 singles victory from Daniel Lozano, 7-6, 6-3 to give Avila a pair of points on the week.

The Eagles will head to Southwestern on Saturday for a dual with the Moundbuilders before returning to Kansas City on Monday to take on the men of Ottawa at the Plaza Tennis Center at 2 PM.
