BARTLESVILLE, Okla. – Taking on their second top-10 opponent in as many road games, Avila women's volleyball fell in three sets at Oklahoma Wesleyan on Wednesday night, 25-13, 25-9, 25-11.
Oklahoma Wesleyan was in control for the entirety of the match.
Avila held a brief lead in the first set before the hometown Eagles 16-3 run to wrap up the opening frame.
In the second, OKWU led for the duration of the set and did the same in the third set, taking all three sets to wrap up the match.
Avila returns home on Saturday to take on Kansas Wesleyan for Senior Day, where the Eagles will honor its three seniors – Ava Leathers, Sydney Owens and Gracie Hett – at 3 PM.
