TENNIS SWEEPS WESTMINSTER, CONTINUES TO GROW
FULTON, Mo. – In their second year returning to Avila, the men's and women's tennis programs continue to lay the foundation with a pair of big wins on Thursday afternoon, both defeating Westminster, 7-0.
A rare-midweek afternoon fall matchup, the men's program got things off to a great start with singles victories from Axel Scott (6-0, 6-0), Daniel Lozano (6-3, 6-0), Brendan Honn (6-0, 6-0) and Drue Coen (6-0, 6-1). Dominic Lunn and Aidan Vandergrift each won their matches via forfeit.
In the doubles matchups, Scott and Lozano won 6-0 and the duo of Lunn and Vandergrift came out on top, 6-1.
The women of Avila were equally impressive in central Missouri.
Kylee Bragaw (6-0, 6-0), Dani Jean-Louis (6-0, 6-0), Lily Hopson (6-1, 6-0), Emma Koenigseder (6-0, 6-0) and Alaeyah Chleborad all came out victorious, while the doubles teams of Bragaw/Hopson (6-0) and Sammy Reyburn and Viviana Bozich (6-2) won their doubles matchups.
Both men's and women's programs will wrap up the fall season on Saturday as they travel to Springfield to take on Evangel at 9 AM.
