ANOTHER STRONG SHOWING FROM MEN’S TENNIS VERSUS TABOR
HILLSBORO, Kan. – Avila men's tennis notched a 5-2 win to open up conference play versus Tabor on Thursday, while the women fell 5-2.
Reigning KCAC Player of the Week Axel Scott, went undefeated again in #1 singles and #1 doubles. Teaming with Daniel Lozano, the doubles pair won 6-2 and Scott followed that up with a 4-6, 7-5, 6-0 #1 singles win.
In #3 doubles, Ben Drinkwater and Brendan Honn won 7-6.
On the singles side, #3 Tristan Houchin won his match, 6-1, 6-3 and Hayden Carillo won #4, 6-4, 4-6, 6-1.
The women's side, the #1 doubles pair of Dani Jean-Louis and Emma Koenigseder won 6-3.
Jean-Louis won her #1 singles match 6-3, 6-0.
Avila's other singles winner came from Alaeyah Chleborad in #3, 4-6, 6-2, 6-1.
Both squads are back in action on Saturday with a pair of KCAC matches against Kansas Wesleyan and Bethel from North Newton, Kan., beginning at 11 AM.
